The Doctors' Orchestra will play once again in support of Freedom from Torture at the beautiful Cadogan Hall on Tuesday 4 March 2014.
The orchestra, led by conductor Stephen Brearley and Ronan Magill on the piano, will be presenting two of Rachmaninov's monumental but much loved works.
Held by some to be the most technically demanding of all piano concertos, Rachmaninov's third deploys bravura pianism not for its own sake but as a means of creating a work which is by turns thrilling, wistful and tender.
Highly acclaimed pianist Ronan Magilll made his debut in the United States with this piece, and his Rachmaninov has been praised for its 'marvellous, deep melodic line'.
Rachmaninov's second symphony was a triumph at its first performance and has remained a favourite with orchestras and audiences ever since.
Tickets can be booked online via the Cadogan Hall website or by calling the box office on 020 7730 4500.
Freedom from Torture would like to thank Stephen Brearley, Ronan Magill and all the talented musicians of the Doctors' Orchestra for volunteering their time and talents to support us.
