Freedom from Torture appoints new Directors of Clinical Services and Fundraising

Freedom from Torture - the only national organisation in the UK dedicated exclusively to the care and treatment of survivors of torture - is delighted to announce appointments to two senior management roles.

Tony Samuel joins the charity as Director of Fundraising, bringing more than 12 years’ experience in fundraising and communications roles in major charities including World Jewish Relief, Winston’s Wish, Blue Cross, RNID, and Oxfam. Tony has also been a Trustee of Asylum Aid for many years, and so his knowledge extends to the complexities of the UK asylum system, the lasting psychological and physical effects of violence and the problems surrounding access to support services whilst living in exile. The role will oversee the development of our donor acquisition and development.

Andy Keefe has been appointed as Director of National Clinical Services. Andy has worked at Freedom from Torture as London & South East Clinical Services Manager at our London centre for two years. Prior to joining Freedom from Torture Andy worked closely with the charity in his position as Manager of Special Needs clients at The Refugee Council for 10 years and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience that will enable him to lead on the development and delivery of Freedom from Torture’s clinical service throughout the UK.

These two new roles represent an exciting new phase for the charity.
