Sarah McConachie is a doctor who works at the Glasgow Treatment Centre of Freedom from Torture. She will tell people about the work of the Centre, give people some idea of the clients and their progress, and in more detail will describe her own work, preparing Medico Legal Reports.
For a second year we are taking part in the Amnesty Groups Festival of Human Rights, on Saturday 17th November in the Augustine Church Centre on George IV Bridge. The event runs from 12 to 5 p.m.
Built into the basement of a Georgian tenement on the edge of Edinburgh's new town the Stand Comedy Club is an intimate space with a superb atmosphere.

Work by writers from Freedom from Torture's Write to Life programme in London, Newcastle and Manchester will be read at the Amnesty Imprisoned Writers sessions at the Edinburgh International Book Festival in Charlotte Square.
Writers Jonathan Falla and Leila Aboulela in conversation with the BBC book Cafe's Serena Field. Both writers will talk about refugees, their journeys and how they experience different cultures. This is a Refugee Week event. It is free but you must get a ticket from the library.
