Campaigner (maternity cover)
Freedom from Torture is recruiting a part-time campaigner to cover a period of maternity leave.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of impact-driven campaigning, practical experience of direct working with survivors of human rights abuses and be a strong communicator.
The campaigner, sitting within our Campaigns and Communications Team, is responsible for leading the implementation of the organisation's campaigning initiatives in order to promote and protect the rights of torture survivors living in the UK. In 2012, this will involve the development of campaigning on poverty in the context of the UK asylum system. Survivor activism is also a key priority for the role. The campaigner works closely with the Survivors Speak OUT Network, a group of former clients who are engaged in campaigning and public communications, including through supervising the network coordinator.
For an informal discussion about this role, please contact Camilla Jelbart Mosse, Campaigns and Communications Manager, on 020 7697 7837.
