Music of longing, belonging and exile
Our East Sussex Supporters Group is proud to present their second recital "Music of longing, belonging and exile" by award winning musicians: Nancy Cooley, Julia Ana Katarina, Andrew Franks and Natasha Holmes. Pieces will include music by Bruch, Shostakovich, Firsova, Korngold, Barbara Heller
Nancy Cooley is a pianist, Artistic Director of the Lewes Festival of Song and coaches singers at the Royal College of Music.
Mezzo-soprano Julia Ana Katarina, will sing Palestinian songs about the homeland and Syrian love songs. She is an Oud and Cello player, music psychologist and Director of Made2Measure Opera and Unity Music.
Andrew Franks is a longstanding professional, freelance musician who works in opera, theatre and orchestras. He plays a range of wind instruments and has performed concertos written for him by composer Paul Carr.
Cellist Natasha Holmes has played in the English Chamber Orchestra, City of London Sinfonia and Norwich Baroque. She plays Bach Cello with Loki Music.
There will be refreshments and a raffle following the concert.
