The North London supporters group invites you to hear Patrick Gale read ‘ The Embroiderer’s Tale’. Listen to the story of a young man who made the perilous journey to the UK and learns how to live a new life.

Patrick Gale wrote the tale after interviewing the young man and this story celebrates the process of being truly listened to and believed, a contrast to many people’s experience of the asylum system.

Patrick Gale is the celebrated author of more than 16 books and writer of the Emmy-winning BBC drama, Man in an Orange Shirt. ‘The Embroiderer’s Tale’ is part of Refugee Tales which share the stories of people held in immigration detention and those who work with them. The reading will be followed by a Q&A.
