Our East Sussex supporters group is pleased to invite you to the Sanctuary Festival Comedy Special and enjoy some of the freshest comedy talents around . You can also bid for some unique items and promises at the Auction.
The line-up includes:
MC – Hastings legend and wonderful Tim Crook from Hastings’ legendary Bavard Bar.
Lauren Douglin the original mixed race Duchess of Sussex and the face of Durex Lube, Lauren Douglin brings her stories of being big, brown and surrounded by boys - she has far too many brothers, to welcoming audiences around the country. As seen in BBC3 comedy Oi, Pussy and ITV2 show Buffering, Lauren is one to watch.
Nick Elleray is a stand-up comic and three-time qualifier for the BBC New Comedian of the Year. His most recent show at the Edinburgh Fringe 'Big Nick Energy' had full houses for the entire run and gained multiple four-star reviews.

Tom Mayhew is a critically acclaimed comedian, whose material about being working-class – mixing the personal and the political, with the punchline rate of a one-liner comic – sets him apart from any other act on the circuit. His 2019 Edinburgh show I, Tom Mayhew, about being someone in their 20s living on benefits in austerity Britain, received 4 and 5-star reviews across the board and transferred to a sell-out Soho Theatre run.
VG Lee is a comedian and critically-acclaimed author of five novels and two collections of short stories. In 2012, Lee was nominated for a Stonewall Award for writing and in 2014 she won the Ultimate Planet Award for Best Established Author. Her most recent novel, Mr Oliver’s Object of Desire was runner up for the YLVA Publishing Literary Prize for Fiction 2017. Lee is also one of the judges for the prestigious Polari First Book Prize established in 2007.
The Comedy Special will be held in the beautiful Durbar Hall. There will be a pay bar available.
