Nationality and Borders Bill: Report Stage Briefing

The proposals within the Nationality and Borders Bill constitute the greatest threat to the UK’s asylum system in a generation.

They will limit access to protection in the UK, criminalise people seeking safety, increase the risk of return to persecution, hold asylum seekers in a prolonged limbo, curtail the rights of refugees, isolate refugees in harmful ‘camps’, condemn refugees to poverty and cripple the asylum system with delays and inefficiencies.
