RUNNING FOR FREEDOM FROM TORTURE

Mamadou Aliou Diallo, currently living in the Birmingham area, raised an amazing amount of about £1,500 for Freedom from Torture when he took part in the Stafford 10K run on September 20. He has strong ties with Stafford and many people know him there.

Stafford Welcomes Refugees, and Quakers and others from Stafford to Norwich, Brussels and Hamburg were generous in their contributions. They know what Diallo has been through, and that he has had fantastic support from Freedom from Torture. He wants to help others from around the world who have suffered from torture too.

Diallo said: ‘I was not feeling well when I went for the run, but I was determined to do it. I wanted to raise as much money as I could for Freedom from Torture, and I did not want to let my sponsors down.’
