EU States must stop transferring asylum seekers to Greece

The Medical Foundation has joined the European Council of Refugees and Exiles (ECRE) in calling on EU States to suspend immediately all transfers of asylum seekers to Greece, where the rights of people in need of protection are not respected.

As of today, the UK, Belgium, Iceland and Norway, have temporarily suspended returns to Greece. Yesterday the Medical Foundation wrote to Theresa May, Home Secretary, calling on the UK Government to use its best endeavours to persuade other EU states to do the same.
