The Doctors' Orchestra
Join us for 13th annual gala concert by The Doctors' Orchestra at London's prestigious Cadogan Hall.
Monday 13 March 2023
Cadogan Hall, 5 Sloane Terrace, London SW1X 9DQ
Wagner – Overture to The Mastersingers
Sibelius – Violin Concerto in D minor
Nielsen – Symphony No. 2 (The Four Temperaments)
Postponed from the day of the Queen Elizabeth II's funeral, Conductor Stephen Brearley will once again bring together a unique ensemble of 75 musically gifted doctors to play in aid of Freedom from Torture.
This year, the concert features outstanding violinist, Nathan Mierdl, in his first appearance with the Doctors’ Orchestra, presenting a beautiful Nordic inspired programme.
Mierdl is a prizewinner of four prizes at the 2018 Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition, and the young virtuoso has since enjoyed a stellar career as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestra leader.
The funds raised from this concert will allow Freedom from Torture to provide psychological support and group therapy in areas such as music and art, as well as offering vital legal and welfare aid.
By attending this concert, you will be making a real difference to the lives of torture survivors, whilst enjoying a breathtaking evening of classical music.
