I spoke out. I was tortured for it

This International Day in Support of Victims of Torture (IDSVT), we took our anti-torture message to the streets of London.

Right now, across the world, people are still being tortured – for speaking out, demanding their basic human rights or just for being who they are.

We simply can’t be silent – so we plastered billboards across London, to help the public see what’s really going on.

Today, on International Day in Support of Victims of Torture, will you stand in solidarity with Kolbassia, Nasrin and Sosin who shared their stories, as well as torture survivors worldwide?

The UK might have a long-standing history of standing up against torture, but the fight isn't over.

With a torture supporter back in the White House and the laws that were created to protect us all under attack, it's never been more important to speak out.

For 40 years, Freedom from Torture has been standing alongside survivors of torture to fight for a world free from torture, where survivors can rebuild their lives in safety.

So together, let's continue our mission and make sure the UK is once again leading that fight.

Help us continue our vital work
