Our registered name has changed

As of Monday 24 February, Freedom from Torture is no longer registered for administrative purposes as the Medical Foundation for the Care of Victims of Torture.

We changed our name to Freedom from Torture in 2011 but continued to be registered with the Charity Commission and Companies House as the Medical Foundation. Last year, we refreshed our brand identity with the aim of reaching more people in order to continue helping and empowering survivors of torture.

By being referred to as Freedom from Torture across the board we will bring consistency to our brand and reduce any confusion arising from the two names. This change will take some time to reflect but our supporters will eventually no longer see us referred to as ‘the Medical Foundation for the Care of Victims of Torture’ on official documentation, including supporters’ bank statements.
